The Petroleum Training Institute has been established to improve the knowledge and practical skills required within the oil and gas, industry, both downstream and upstream.

We provide off the shelf courses for oil and gas companies. In addition we create plant specific training programmes for almost any process control application. Please note; the PTI is not a college for the individual. It is for oil and gas companies around the world wishing to develop the potential of their staff.

To become a part of this scheme, company training managers are encouraged to contact the PTI for information regarding costing of courses, who might be suited to each course, maximum delegate group sizes etc.

The PTI's training schemes include:

• Curriculum design. Including liaison with client to ensure that the client requirements are met.
• Provide Design and delivery of training packages to meet plant specific and client needs.
• Delivered training to NVQ levels 2, 3 and 4.
• Are responsible for all trainee record keeping and where applicable, ensuring that each trainee maintains a portfolio of evidenced as required by the qualifying body.
• Ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Preparation and writing of all trainee handouts.
• Preparation and writing of all practical assessments

With the experience within the organisation, we:

• Work with apprentices, adult trainees and graduates within the industry.
• Advise on safety assessments and performed risk analysis prior to carrying out any task.
• Carry out competence assessments for individual trainees and groups, both at site and in a simulated workshop environment.

The PTI works with both the operations production side and the maintenance side of the industry. There is focus on the fields of on and off the job training and instrument / electrical maintenance.

The PTI ensure that throughout any training programme there is constant liaison with client management at all stages of curriculum design. Thus ensuring that the “client gets what the client expects.”
